Senior Python Engineer

Job Summary

To support the DataFeed Team, the remote contract Senior Python Engineer will design and maintain Python services for sports data ingestion and distribution, ensuring data accuracy and reliability while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services for sports data ingestion, transformation, and distribution
• Integrate with third-party sports data providers and handle differences in provider models and formats
• Improve data validation, monitoring, and tooling for reliable near real-time and batch data processing

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of strong production experience with Python
• Experience designing and operating backend services in production
• Solid experience with Django and asynchronous programming (asyncio)
• Production experience with Apache Kafka and strong SQL skills, particularly with PostgreSQL
• Ability to reason about data correctness and experience with monitoring and debugging production systems
