Senior Python Engineer

Job Summary

To support the core systems behind a sports data platform, the remote contract Senior Python Engineer will design, build, and maintain Python services for data ingestion, transformation, and distribution while integrating with third-party sports data providers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services for sports data ingestion and distribution
• Integrate with third-party sports data providers and manage differences in data models and formats
• Improve data validation, monitoring, and system observability while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience with Python
• Experience designing and operating backend services in production environments
• Solid understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and data pipelines
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Production experience with Apache Kafka
