Senior Python Engineer

Job Summary

To support the evolution of Fliff's sports data platform, the remote contract Senior Python Engineer will design, build, and maintain Python services for data ingestion, transformation, and distribution while integrating with third-party sports data providers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services for sports data ingestion and distribution
• Integrate with third-party sports data providers and manage differences in data formats
• Improve data validation, monitoring, and system observability for real-time data processing

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience with Python
• Experience designing and operating backend services in production
• Solid understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and data pipelines
• Strong SQL skills with experience in relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Experience with Apache Kafka and integrating external APIs or data feeds
