Senior Python Engineer

Job Summary

To support the DataFeed Team, the contract Senior Python Engineer will design, build, and maintain Python services for sports data ingestion and processing while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services for sports data ingestion, transformation, and distribution
• Integrate with third-party sports data providers and handle differences in provider models and formats
• Improve data validation, monitoring, and system observability while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of strong production experience with Python
• Solid experience designing and operating backend services in production, particularly with Django
• Production experience with Apache Kafka and strong SQL skills, especially with PostgreSQL
• Ability to reason about data correctness and experience integrating with external APIs or data providers
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and a senior ownership mindset for problem-solving
