Job Summary
To support the growth of renewable energy initiatives, the full-time Senior Real Estate Counsel will manage legal aspects of project development, focusing on land leases and real estate due diligence for acquisitions and financing, while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manages legal aspects of project development, including overseeing real estate due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and financing
- Drafts, negotiates, and reviews a variety of real estate agreements, such as land control agreements and title curative documents
- Advises on legal matters related to project development, operations, and asset optimization
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active admission to one or more U.S. state bars, preferably Texas or California
- Typically, 10 years of dedicated real estate legal experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department
- Prior experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus
- Deep understanding of real estate transactions, including title, survey, leasing, and M&A
