Senior Researcher, AI Civics

Job Summary

To lead an ambitious two-year program focused on civic action and community control over AI, the full-time Senior Researcher, AI Civics will manage inter-organizational partnerships, co-create educational materials, and execute participatory research projects in a fully remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead collaborative relationships with partner organizations to co-create and disseminate AI Civics resources using participatory methods
• Produce educational materials, case studies, and public-facing outputs while coordinating with internal teams and external partners
• Participate in fundraising efforts and contribute to the organizational development through active involvement in internal programming and events

Required qualifications

• Graduate degree or equivalent required
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in research organizations or environments
• Expertise in participatory research methods and a strong track record of research publication
• Public profile with demonstrated ability to connect with non-academic audiences
• Strong organizational, analytic, and writing skills, with familiarity in academic literature related to the program's focus areas
