Senior Resource Plane Engineer

Job Summary

Operating primarily remotely with occasional visits to the Bristol office or London, the Senior Resource Plane Platform Engineer will design, implement, and manage shared Resource Plane services, ensuring the reliability and scalability of critical infrastructure such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Elasticsearch.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, and operation of shared Resource Plane services across the organization
• Apply SRE principles to maintain the availability and reliability of stateful systems and lead incident response efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Resource Plane services into the Internal Developer Platform for self-service consumption

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology
• Senior-level experience operating production-grade, stateful distributed systems
• Strong hands-on experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Elasticsearch
• Deep experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably Terraform
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and storage fundamentals
