Senior RHEL Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the OS and container platform for on-premises energy-management deployments, the full-time Senior RHEL Engineer will build and harden tailored RHEL images and manage containerized Ignition SCADA workloads while acting as the deep RHEL authority and L3 escalation point in a remote capacity with occasional travel to client sites.

Key responsibilities

• Build, version, and maintain a reproducible, turnkey RHEL image tailored to SCADA host needs
• Own the SCADA container image end to end, including hardening and scanning
• Troubleshoot full-stack OS and container runtime behavior, documenting runbooks for the OT team

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of senior, hands-on production RHEL/Linux engineering experience
• Proficiency in container-native delivery using Podman and managing container images
• Experience in reproducible, turnkey, versioned RHEL image building
• Knowledge of OS and image hardening to recognized baselines (CIS/STIG)
• Strong Linux networking skills, including firewall administration and connectivity diagnostics
