Senior RPG Programmer/Analyst

Job Summary

To support the modernization of IBM i applications, the full-time remote Senior RPG Programmer/Analyst will lead the analysis, design, development, and support of business-critical applications and EDI integrations while collaborating with clients and technical teams to ensure seamless data exchange.

Key responsibilities

• Lead EDI initiatives by designing, developing, and enhancing Cleo Extol EDI solutions for reliable integration with IBM i applications
• Consult with clients to analyze business requirements and troubleshoot application and EDI issues throughout the project lifecycle
• Architect and develop applications using RPG, RPGLE, Free-Form RPG, and DB2 for i, while ensuring quality through comprehensive testing

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience developing and supporting enterprise solutions on IBM i (iSeries / AS400)
• Strong expertise in Cleo Extol EDI, including mapping, translation, and maintaining production EDI environments
• Deep knowledge of RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, and modern ILE development practices
• Advanced skills in DB2 for i, including database design and SQL programming
• Experience with EDI standards such as ANSI X12 and EDIFACT
