Job Summary

To support reactor safety and licensing work, the contract Senior Safety Methods Engineer will develop and qualify system-level thermal-hydraulic analysis methods, perform steady-state and transient analyses, and collaborate across disciplines, with onsite and remote work options available for exceptional non-local candidates.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop methods for Licensing Basis Events (LBE) analyses to support reactor design and licensing
  • Perform steady-state and transient system-level analyses to assess model performance and fidelity requirements
  • Document methodologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align thermal hydraulic methods with design and safety analysis workflows
Required qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in system-level thermal hydraulic modeling and method development for nuclear or complex energy systems
  • Experience with thermal hydraulic analysis tools such as RELAP5 3D, GOTHIC, or SAS
  • Strong foundation in thermal fluids and reactor system behavior, particularly in advanced reactor designs
  • Familiarity with scientific programming and workflow automation (Python, MATLAB)
