Job Summary
To support reactor safety and licensing work, the contract Senior Safety Methods Engineer will develop and qualify system-level thermal-hydraulic analysis methods, perform steady-state and transient analyses, and collaborate across disciplines, with onsite and remote work options available for exceptional non-local candidates.
Key responsibilities
- Develop methods for Licensing Basis Events (LBE) analyses to support reactor design and licensing
- Perform steady-state and transient system-level analyses to assess model performance and fidelity requirements
- Document methodologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align thermal hydraulic methods with design and safety analysis workflows
Required qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in system-level thermal hydraulic modeling and method development for nuclear or complex energy systems
- Experience with thermal hydraulic analysis tools such as RELAP5 3D, GOTHIC, or SAS
- Strong foundation in thermal fluids and reactor system behavior, particularly in advanced reactor designs
- Familiarity with scientific programming and workflow automation (Python, MATLAB)
