Senior Safety V&V Engineer

Job Summary

To support nuclear safety assessments, the remote contract Senior Safety V&V Engineer will verify and validate safety assessment models and software, develop benchmark models, and ensure compliance with NRC guidance for next-generation nuclear systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain assessment bases and benchmark models for safety evaluations
• Coordinate safety code verification and validation activities, including simulations and testing
• Review engineering analyses and contribute to safety assessments for licensing documentation

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience with nuclear safety software verification and validation
• Strong understanding of nuclear thermal-hydraulic fundamentals and reactor dynamics
• Proven expertise with safety analysis methodologies, including NRC RG 1.203
• Advanced degree in nuclear engineering or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with EMDAP and regulatory requirements specific to nuclear safety
