Senior Safety V&V Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Safety V&V Engineer will verify and validate safety assessment models and software for reactor safety analysis, develop benchmark models, and ensure compliance with NRC guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain assessment bases, including benchmarks and applicable tests, to support safety evaluations
• Coordinate and execute safety code verification and validation activities, including simulations and benchmarking
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to establish safety, performance, and quality requirements for core and reactor systems

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience with nuclear safety software verification and validation, including system transient analysis codes
• Strong understanding of nuclear thermal-hydraulic fundamentals and reactor dynamics
• Proven expertise with safety analysis methodologies and NRC RG 1.203
• Advanced degree in nuclear engineering or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with EMDAP and regulatory requirements specific to nuclear safety
