Senior SBA Credit Underwriter

Job Summary

Leading the evaluation and underwriting of SBA loan applications, the full-time Senior SBA Credit Underwriter will ensure compliance with SBA Program requirements and lender credit policies while collaborating with various teams and mentoring junior underwriters in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Independently evaluate and underwrite SBA loan applications, including complex commercial transactions
• Prepare comprehensive SBA credit memorandums with recommendations for loan approvals, denials, or modifications
• Collaborate with lending, processing, and closing teams to ensure efficient loan transitions and maintain underwriting quality

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial lending, SBA underwriting, or credit analysis
• Advanced knowledge of SBA lending programs and SOP 50 10 guidelines
• Strong expertise in commercial credit analysis and financial statement analysis
• Demonstrated ability to independently underwrite and structure complex credit transactions
