Senior Scala Developer

Job Summary

To support the growth of the Canton Network, the full-time remote Senior Scala Developer will contribute to the Splice codebase by writing production-grade Scala, designing and implementing features, and mentoring new engineers in a globally distributed Agile team.

Key responsibilities:

• Contribute directly to the Splice codebase on Canton Network, writing production-grade Scala across core distributed ledger components
• Design and implement features end-to-end, from specification refinement through testing, review, and deployment
• Mentor and onboard engineers new to the Canton/Daml ecosystem, building internal capability over time

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional Scala experience with a strong command of functional programming patterns
• Strong grasp of the Scala type system, including implicits/givens and type inference
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, including consensus mechanisms and fault tolerance
• Experience with Canton and/or Daml is strongly preferred, or a demonstrated willingness to develop expertise in both
• Comfortable working with gRPC, Protobuf, and service-oriented architectures
