Senior Scala Engineer
Job Summary
Developing and maintaining the QAD Redzone API Backend, the full-time Senior Scala Engineer will ensure an efficient user experience for manufacturing teams while working remotely from the UK.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the MCP server to support AI integrations and enhance internal tooling capabilities
- Improve the use of OpenSearch within the backend application and complete delivery work during sprints to achieve business goals
- Provide subject matter expertise during incidents to quickly resolve customer issues and contribute ideas for continuous system improvement
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a Backend Engineer
- Proficiency in Scala (5+ years) and Java
- Experience with API-first design using Open API Spec (OAS) and generating Tapir endpoints
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming with Cats Effect and relational database design with PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions and cloud technologies such as AWS
