Senior Scientific Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Advanced Analysis Team, the full-time Senior Scientific Data Engineer will design, implement, and enhance core scientific data systems and workflows for genomic data management and AI capabilities, while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance core scientific data and compute capabilities as part of an engineering team
• Design, build, and deploy production automated systems, APIs, and workflows for genomic data movement and job orchestration
• Identify and resolve technical issues while driving continuous improvements in system reliability and scalability

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of software and data engineering fundamentals for data-intensive distributed systems
• Experience with database technologies, including relational databases and object storage
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with additional programming languages
• Experience using data engineering technologies such as Airflow or Kafka
