Senior Scientist in Agricultural Chemistry

Job Summary

Collaborating with the ARPA-H Program Manager in a full-time remote capacity, the Senior Scientist in Agricultural Chemistry will provide expertise in plant toxicology and agricultural chemistry to support innovative research initiatives aimed at developing next-generation herbicides and sustainable agricultural practices.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to multidisciplinary teams focused on breakthrough technologies in molecular discovery and sustainable weed control methods
• Evaluate technical proposals, providing feedback and drafting recommendations and project summaries
• Conduct market and regulatory analyses, generating briefing documents on agricultural chemicals and their impacts on health and safety

Required qualifications

• PhD in a related field with 2+ years of experience, or MS with 5+ years, or BA with 7+ years of experience in agricultural chemistry or plant toxicology
• Experience with analytical chemistry methods, spectroscopy techniques, and molecular biology methods
• Familiarity with USDA and EPA regulations regarding agricultural technologies
• Strong skills in PowerPoint and Excel, including the ability to create presentations and documents quickly in high-pressure situations
• Ability to communicate complex scientific ideas to diverse audiences and engage with emerging biotechnology literature
