Job Summary
Bringing deep theoretical and simulation expertise in laser-plasma interaction, the full-time Senior Scientist in Laser-Plasma Interaction will manage the beam smoothing project, coordinate laser beam requirements, and support the scientific roadmap in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide theoretical and simulation support for the beam smoothing project and LPI research
- Coordinate laser beam requirements, including design for picket, drive beams, and beam ports
- Collaborate with various teams to support the physics roadmap and mitigate LPI risks
Required qualifications
- PhD in plasma physics or an equivalent field
- 10+ years of post-doc or staff scientist experience
- Strong theoretical and simulation knowledge of beam smoothing techniques
- Experience with PIC/fluid simulations and knowledge of LPI phenomena
- Excellent programming skills for HPC in C++ and/or Python
