Senior Security Controls Assessor

Job Summary

To support a critical federal contract, the remote Senior Security Controls Assessor will execute comprehensive assessments of complex information systems, verify security controls, and mentor junior assessors while ensuring compliance with established frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive security control assessments using various methods to ensure compliance with frameworks such as NIST and FISMA
• Act as a technical mentor and perform peer reviews of assessment documentation for accuracy and consistency
• Author and present high-quality Security Assessment Reports detailing findings, risks, and remediation recommendations to stakeholders

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or equivalent professional experience
• 8-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or IT auditing
• 6 years of experience performing hands-on security controls assessments of complex systems
• Security+ certification; higher certifications such as CISSP, CAP, or CASP are desired
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background investigation
