Senior Security Engineer

Job Summary

As the first dedicated Senior Security Engineer, this full-time remote position will manage security practices to protect sensitive health and genomic data, lead security testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead security testing for web apps, APIs, and cloud environments while documenting vulnerabilities
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with teams to secure genomic data pipelines in compliance with HIPAA
• Establish security monitoring, incident response protocols, and maintain clear security documentation

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering, DevSecOps, or infrastructure security roles
• Strong hands-on skills in penetration testing and vulnerability discovery, with relevant certifications preferred
• Deep experience securing AWS, OCI, and Kubernetes environments
• Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, and protecting sensitive data in regulated environments
• Experience with CI/CD security tools and real-time detection systems
