Senior Security Engineer

Job Summary

Overseeing the architecture and optimization of security controls, the full-time remote Senior Security Engineer will manage detection engineering efforts, mentor team members, and ensure compliance with defensive standards through proactive threat hunting and architectural reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on detection engineering efforts within the SIEM platform, including use case development and alert optimization
• Support management and optimization of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and coordinate technical responses to significant security incidents
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and define secure configuration standards for Azure and Microsoft 365 environments

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in security engineering or advanced security operations
• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and SIEM platforms (specifically Microsoft Sentinel)
• Strong proficiency with cloud security architecture, particularly in Azure environments
• Proven track record of leading incident response efforts and conducting root-cause analysis
• Experience with automation and scripting languages, including PowerShell, Python, and KQL
