Senior Security Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the SIEM platform and incident response functions, the full-time Senior Security Engineer will manage security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response in a remote environment while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, NIST, ISO, and SOC 2 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own the SIEM platform, including log source onboarding, detection tuning, and performance management
• Lead the incident response lifecycle, from triage to post-incident reporting
• Build and maintain detection content and conduct proactive threat hunts across various environments

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Cyber-specific certification (e.g., GCIH, GCFA, CISSP, or relevant SIEM/vendor certification)
• Minimum of seven years of IT experience, with at least four years in security engineering, SOC, or incident response
• Expert-level experience with SIEM platforms, particularly Sumo Logic, including log architecture and correlation rule development
• Advanced scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash
