Senior Security Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the detection and alerting program end to end, the full-time Senior Security Engineer will manage the Datadog Cloud SIEM, build and tune detection rules, and respond to security incidents in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee log pipelines, parsing, enrichment, and retention within the Datadog Cloud SIEM, ensuring high-quality detection metrics
• Serve as a primary responder for security alerts and incidents, improving incident response playbooks and automation
• Contribute to cloud and infrastructure security hardening, supporting identity and access management improvements

Required qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in security operations, detection engineering, or incident response
• Proven experience building and tuning detections in a SIEM, preferably Datadog Cloud SIEM
• Fluency in reading and correlating logs from cloud providers and SaaS platforms
• Hands-on incident response experience with real alerts and incidents
• Scripting ability in Python or similar for automation and log analysis
