Senior Security Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing security team, the full-time Senior Security Engineer will manage detection engineering and security operations, writing and tuning detections in Panther, running the SIEM, and handling cloud security operations remotely within the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Write, tune, and maintain detections in the SIEM across various log sources while managing detection quality and reducing false positives
• Triage and investigate security alerts, executing incident-response playbooks and managing cloud security operations in AWS
• Contribute to security design reviews, write runbooks, and support the Vulnerability Management program

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in security engineering with hands-on AWS and cloud-native infrastructure expertise
• Direct experience writing and tuning detections in a modern SIEM (e.g., Panther)
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript for automation tasks
• Solid understanding of AWS network security fundamentals and familiarity with cloud logging and observability
• Ability to design and deliver medium-complexity security work independently
