Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Job Summary

As a remote Senior Site Reliability Engineer, the successful candidate will leverage platform engineering principles to ensure Shippo's services are reliable, scalable, and performant, while designing and maintaining infrastructure that supports applications and collaborating with engineering teams to enhance service automation and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, scale, and secure infrastructure through fault-tolerant architecture, performance testing, and capacity planning
• Build, deploy, and maintain automation, monitoring, and alerting systems, including disaster recovery solutions
• Enhance CI/CD pipeline for smooth production releases via automated testing and verification

Required qualifications

• Experience managing and troubleshooting highly available distributed systems, including Kubernetes in production
• Extensive expertise with at least one public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with common infrastructure components such as Redis, Elasticsearch, and Hadoop
• Interest in best-in-class security practices, automation, and testing methods
