Senior SNAP Eligibility Specialist

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Senior SNAP Eligibility Specialist, the role will manage complex eligibility cases, support compliance efforts, and ensure timely benefit determinations in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, assess, and screen applications while proactively communicating with clients to gather necessary information
• Validate and calculate income, assess eligibility, and manage case referrals
• Engage regularly with program participants and educate clients on program services and eligibility requirements

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, with 0-2 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent education and experience
• Experience handling high-volume caseloads and complex eligibility determinations
• Prior experience processing SNAP benefits in a state, county, or government contractor environment preferred
• Experience supporting additional public assistance programs such as Medicaid or TANF preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
