Senior Software Developer

Job Summary

Providing expert-level guidance on backend and application-layer development, the Temporary Task-Based Senior Software Developer will support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Data Management Center by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications and cloud infrastructure, all while working remotely on a task-based engagement model.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a technical authority for the DMC custom-built application portfolio, overseeing approximately 10 applications and 170,000 lines of C# code
• Design, develop, and enhance applications using ASP.NET Core, C#, and other technologies while ensuring compliance with security and accessibility standards
• Lead the migration of SSRS to Power BI and modernization of WebForms to ASP.NET Core within the VAEC framework

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Eight or more years of experience in software development
• Significant experience with Azure Cloud Solution technologies, including Databricks and Synapse
• Demonstrated expertise with ASP.NET Core, C#, T-SQL, Power BI, and Kendo UI
• Proven experience leading software development projects and providing technical oversight
