Senior Software Developer

Job Summary

Providing technical leadership and design integrity, the full-time Senior Software Developer (.NET Core / Azure Cloud Solution) will be responsible for developing and sustaining a portfolio of custom-built applications for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, working remotely to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with VA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a technical authority for the DMC application portfolio, overseeing approximately 10 applications and 170,000 lines of C# code
• Design, develop, and maintain applications using ASP.NET Core, C#, and other technologies while ensuring compliance with Section 508 and ADA requirements
• Lead the migration from SSRS to Power BI and modernization from WebForms to ASP.NET Core within the VA Enterprise Cloud framework

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Eight or more years of experience in software development
• Significant experience with Azure Cloud Solution technologies, including Databricks and Synapse
• Demonstrated expertise in ASP.NET Core, C#, T-SQL, and Power BI
• Proven experience leading software development projects and providing technical oversight
