Senior Software Developer

Job Summary

To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Software Developer will build and maintain a cloud-based Web Dashboard application for processing healthcare Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS to serve and transform healthcare EDI records
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs and ensure reliable data delivery across services
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews while applying best software engineering practices within an Agile framework

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on back-end technologies, particularly Java and/or NodeJS
• Proven experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with Angular for front-end development and API integration
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and related technologies
• U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust security clearance are required
