Senior Software Developer

Job Summary

To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Software Developer will build and maintain a cloud-based Web Dashboard application, design RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS, and integrate with internal platform APIs while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard application for processing healthcare EDI transactions
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs that serve structured healthcare data and collaborate with back-end engineers for reliable data delivery
• Write clean, testable code, perform unit and integration testing, and promote best software engineering practices within an Agile framework

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on back-end technologies such as Java and/or NodeJS
• Proven experience in building RESTful APIs and handling structured healthcare data
• Hands-on experience with Angular for front-end development and API integration
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and version control using Git/GitHub
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
