Senior Software Development Engineer

Job Summary

As a full-time remote Senior Software Development Engineer on the Developer Platform team, the candidate will design and build core platform capabilities, contribute to architecture and API/SDK design, and collaborate across product and engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable services for internal and external developers.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the technical strategy for the Workday Developer Portal, implementing platform capabilities for external developers and partners
• Lead the design and implementation of key platform components, focusing on scalability, reliability, and developer experience
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and design feedback, while participating in architectural discussions

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including senior-level ownership of web or platform services in production
• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying distributed systems
• Experience building and operating cloud-native services on platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Hands-on experience with modern web technologies and APIs, such as TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and REST/GraphQL
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
