Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on enhancing developer productivity, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will architect and optimize AI-powered tools and frameworks for the Yahoo Mail engineering organization, improving the software development lifecycle and collaborating across teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and optimize developer productivity tools using AI to enhance code suggestions, automated testing, and documentation
• Identify and implement AI-driven efficiencies in the software development lifecycle, transitioning manual processes into intelligent workflows
• Define and analyze key developer experience metrics to isolate friction points and improve engineering velocity

Required qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent with 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or Golang
• Hands-on experience integrating AI coding assistants or code generation tools into development pipelines
• Experience building robust internal tools for engineering organizations, including scalable backend microservices
• Deep understanding of modern software development practices, design patterns, and CI/CD architecture
