Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Joining the File System team in a full-time hybrid role, the Senior Software Engineer will design and implement major components of a distributed file system, focusing on high-performance C/C++ development and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and operate core components of the distributed file system and data path infrastructure
• Write high-performance C/C++ code for both kernel-adjacent and user-space storage systems
• Lead technical discussions and code reviews, mentoring engineers to improve systems design and operational quality

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant systems programming expertise
• Strong proficiency in C or C++, including memory management and performance-sensitive coding
• Hands-on experience in designing and operating distributed systems in production environments
• Practical knowledge of consistency, availability, and failure modes in distributed systems
• Familiarity with storage protocols such as NFS, SMB, or S3
