Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the services and tooling for Chainguard OS, the remote Senior Software Engineer will operate and develop the Elastic Build service, maintain and improve the Melange package build tool, and design automation workflows while ensuring system reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and develop the Elastic Build service, improving reliability and performance of the Kubernetes-based package build pipeline
• Maintain and enhance the Melange package build tool, focusing on usability and observability
• Design and implement automation for rebuild and review workflows, while defining a roadmap for build and update services

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with backend or distributed systems
• Strong programming skills in Go, with experience in writing production services
• Hands-on experience operating production services at scale and responding to incidents
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Cloud Run, and cloud-native service design
• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
