Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Software Engineer contractor to work remotely, focusing on building HIPAA-compliant healthcare microservices using Java/Kotlin and JVM-based frameworks while managing backend development and database optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices across the healthcare platform ecosystem
• Architect multi-tenant data models and implement data isolation patterns across relational databases
• Develop asynchronous messaging workflows and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Docker and GitHub Actions

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience on the JVM platform, with a strong preference for Kotlin
• Professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written
• Production experience with at least two frameworks: Ktor, Spring Boot, or Quarkus
• Expertise in relational databases such as PostgreSQL and/or MariaDB/MySQL
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, SSM Parameter Store, and S3
