Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the media pipeline and services for real-time applications, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and optimize systems that manage media ingestion and export within a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize the media pipeline and services around LiveKit's real-time core
• Develop distributed systems for media ingestion from various sources and export LiveKit sessions
• Shape the strategy for media features, formats, and codecs while maintaining operational excellence

Required qualifications

• Experience building and operating production media processing services at scale
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous pipelines, and parallel processing
• Proficiency in programming languages and technologies such as Golang, GStreamer, and FFmpeg
• Ability to manage work end-to-end, from design through implementation and deployment
• Comfort with ambiguity and evolving requirements in complex problem domains
