Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work remotely in a full-time capacity, focusing on architecting and evolving backend systems, designing scalable APIs, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to enhance software engineering processes.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and evolve backend systems using Scala, Play, Postgres, and AWS
• Design and deploy scalable APIs and AI-assisted services while owning feature development from ideation to production
• Develop and maintain agent-driven development workflows and create internal tooling to improve velocity and code quality

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend system knowledge (Scala, Java, Ruby, or C#)
• Proficient in JavaScript and React, with experience building and scaling SaaS products
• Deep familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex
• Experience designing systems, not just implementing features, and comfort with multi-session, agent-driven workflows
• Excellent written communication skills suitable for an async-first culture
