Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Software Engineer will enhance and modernize the KnowItAll platform by managing complex C++ codebases, refactoring legacy components, and implementing new features while collaborating with domain experts.

Key responsibilities

• Owning features or subsystems through design, implementation, and maintenance in a large C++ codebase
• Refactoring complex areas to improve performance, clarity, and reliability
• Supporting architectural improvements and collaborating with engineers and domain experts

Required qualifications

• Strong professional experience in C++, including debugging and performance tuning
• Experience with large, long-lived codebases, particularly in Windows development
• Solid understanding of memory management, threading, and performance trade-offs
• Typically 6-10 years of professional software development experience
• Comfort with incremental improvements rather than complete rewrites of existing systems
