Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Driving the design and implementation of a greenfield billing service, the remote Senior Software Engineer will focus on replacing legacy code with modern microservices, collaborating with various teams, and utilizing AI tools for development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a new billing service to replace legacy infrastructure with modern microservices and strong observability
• Build and maintain billing infrastructure for other product teams and resolve billing support tickets as needed
• Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable team to translate accounting requirements into engineering solutions

Required qualifications

• Strong system design skills with the ability to discuss architectural decisions and trade-offs
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
• Fluency in AI tools such as Claude or Cursor as primary coding interfaces
• Proven experience in delivering complex systems rather than just features
• Experience in FinTech, payments, or billing systems is a plus
