Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the identity and access systems of Temporal Cloud, the remote Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and operate authentication and authorization mechanisms while collaborating with security, product, and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and improve core components of the identity platform, including authentication and authorization systems
• Ensure the reliability and speed of the authentication path through effective caching and token management
• Integrate with enterprise identity providers and support user provisioning while addressing common identity threats

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience with production identity or authentication systems, including OAuth 2.0/OIDC and SAML
• Understanding of authorization models such as RBAC and familiarity with policy engines
• Experience operating distributed systems in a production environment
• Proficiency in Go, with additional experience in Python, Java, or Rust being a plus
• Strong collaborative skills to work effectively across security, product, and engineering teams
