Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the design and operation of Kubernetes cluster management tooling, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will enhance the Compute Platform at Coinbase, focusing on automation, developer workflows, and operational excellence in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Kubernetes cluster management tooling for reliability and scalability
• Create developer-facing tooling and workflows that integrate AI-driven processes for improved interaction with Kubernetes
• Drive operational excellence by automating processes and enhancing platform observability and incident response

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years with Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP infrastructure services in a production environment
• Ability to design and operate distributed infrastructure systems, diagnosing complex failures
• Experience with the CNCF ecosystem and applying its tools to solve infrastructure problems
• Proven ability to apply AI tooling to improve automation and operational efficiency
