Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of high-scale data products for Zillow's AI experiences, the full-time Senior Software Development Engineer will build and operate scalable data platforms, focusing on trace and event data for analytics and observability in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate scalable data platforms and shared data products for Zillow's AI experiences
• Own and evolve trace and event data foundations that support analytics and future learning workflows
• Design and operate production-grade data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Python, and SQL

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in big data engineering, data platform engineering, or machine learning engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with experience in building production-grade data systems
• Experience designing and operating scalable batch, streaming, or near-real-time data pipelines
• Familiarity with high-volume event, telemetry, or log-style datasets and modern architecture patterns
• Experience improving production reliability through schema evolution and operational ownership
