Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

As a full-time remote Senior Software Engineer, the candidate will design and scale Workday's core services platform, lead the architecture of distributed subsystems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions while mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, build, and evolve secure, scalable core product microservices and frontend user experiences
• Implement and maintain resilient distributed systems supporting mission-critical product features
• Translate complex product requirements into functional software solutions and advocate for engineering best practices

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend microservice architectures and distributed systems
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java or Scala and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)
• 5+ years of experience delivering cloud-based production services, preferably in AWS or GCP environments
• 5+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes
