Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

As a hands-on leader in an agile environment, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will design and develop capabilities for a next-generation distributed transaction platform, supporting Amex card transactions while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead software builds and code reviews while contributing to high-level and detailed design of complex subsystems
• Perform technical software development tasks, including debugging, prototyping, and coding assignments
• Drive team strategy and prioritize initiatives, fostering innovation and accountability within the team

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience
• Strong implementation experience with object-oriented languages such as Java, C/C++, or Go, focusing on high-performance systems
• Hands-on experience in building distributed micro-service systems and familiarity with Service Mesh products like Envoy or Istio
• Experience in designing cloud-native applications and using platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
• Proficiency in building Restful APIs and working with NoSQL databases and distributed messaging systems
