Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the collaboration experience at GitHub, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and support high-quality technical solutions remotely, while providing technical leadership and advocating for system health and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and ship scalable technical solutions across multiple GitHub services
• Provide mentorship and conduct code reviews to promote the growth of team members and ensure code quality
• Participate in on-call rotations and live incidents to maintain system health and quality

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related technical discipline, with proven experience in production software coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
• Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience designing and implementing APIs for software component integration
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools for automated pipelines in software development
• Ability to write architecture briefs and proposals, and conduct code experiments
