Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

As a full-time Senior Software Engineer II, the successful candidate will design and develop capabilities for a next-generation distributed transaction platform, supporting Amex card transactions while leading Agile engineering teams in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead software development efforts on an Agile team, including code reviews and automated testing
• Contribute to the design of complex subsystems with a focus on high availability and low latency
• Debug software components and drive the adoption of innovative technologies and solutions

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent, with a minimum of 12 years of professional experience
• Strong implementation experience in object-oriented languages such as Java, C/C++, or Go
• Hands-on experience building distributed micro-service systems and familiarity with Service Mesh products
• Experience in designing and building cloud-native applications using platforms like Docker and Kubernetes
• Proficient in building Restful APIs and working with NoSQL databases and distributed messaging systems
