Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Joining a passionate team, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will develop and maintain backend functionality for Ancestry's Family History Trees, working remotely to support high-throughput systems that serve millions of requests per second.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy backend functionality to enhance the Ancestry Member Trees domain
• Collaborate with the team to create microservices and ensure optimal service performance in a cloud environment
• Guide AI tooling and agents in software production, focusing on architectural quality and reliability

Required qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Java or JVM languages within an enterprise environment
• Experience with RESTful web service development
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments
• Proficiency in Agile or rapid application development methodologies
