Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To shape the future of Copilot Chat, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and implement high-quality technical solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and ship scalable technical solutions across multiple GitHub services
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to define and implement innovative solutions
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, including conducting code reviews and encouraging team growth

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related technical discipline with proven experience in production software coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
• 1+ years of experience building agent-based experiences on large language models (LLMs)
• Hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, CSS, HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• 2+ years of experience using general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Go, Ruby, or similar)
• Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
