Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Senior Software Engineer on the Underwriting team will design and build scalable backend services in Python and/or Go to enhance Coalition's cyber insurance underwriting processes through automation and data integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services that support underwriting decisioning and automation
• Implement systems that integrate statistical and machine learning models for risk assessment and monitoring
• Create and maintain operational stability tools, including alerts and dashboards for incident response

Required qualifications

• Strong experience in backend API development using Python and/or Go
• Hands-on experience with REST and additional transport formats like gRPC or GraphQL
• Practical experience deploying services in AWS or another major public cloud
• Familiarity with observability and error-tracking tools such as Sentry or Datadog
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
