Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Software Engineer will enhance shared architecture, develop frontend components, and manage AWS resources while collaborating with the Web Platform team to support Ancestry's migration to a new web component-based platform.

Key responsibilities

• Improve shared architecture, systems, and tools across web services and web pages
• Create frontend components and libraries using various web technologies
• Implement and manage frontend routing and request filtering processes

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with JavaScript/Node.js and frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and frameworks like React or Angular
• Experience writing or maintaining web component libraries
• Familiarity with deployment and containerization concepts like CI/CD and Docker
• Experience with cloud-based compute infrastructure
• Ability to write effective tests, such as with BDD or TDD
